When the Water Hits the Floor

Overview

Water is the most common, most expensive, and most misunderstood claim type in BC residential and strata files. This course walks through the first forty-eight hours of a water loss as the adjuster, the contractor, and the IICRC standard see it — and shows brokers where coverage interpretation actually matters.

Learning outcomes

  • 01Distinguish IICRC Category 1, 2, and 3 water losses and why the category drives the scope
  • 02Identify the policy language that decides whether a loss is covered
  • 03Read a moisture map and a drying log
  • 04Spot subrogation opportunities at first notice
