Xactimate Forensics: Reading Estimates Like an Expert
A practical course on reading, challenging, and validating Xactimate estimates.
CE credits

Insurance Council of BC
Overview
Xactimate is the lingua franca of North American property claims, but most advisors who see Xactimate estimates have never been taught to read one. This course gives you the structural literacy: line item logic, price list mechanics, O&P application, the difference between RCV and ACV in the printout, and the patterns that reveal an estimate built to bill rather than to scope.
Learning outcomes
- 01Read an Xactimate estimate top to bottom and find the load-bearing lines
- 02Apply the price list and modifier system to validate unit costs
- 03Identify O&P, sales tax, and depreciation treatment on the page
- 04Recognize the most common scoping errors — and the ones that matter
